Painting
is usually an obsessively private solo practice, which makes an event at
the Seymour Art Gallery this month worth a trip to the North Shore.
Until Monday (July 24), five local artists—James Picard, Tania Gleave,
Natalia Vetrova, Jordan Roberts, and Steve Horvat—will collaborate on 15
canvases as part of the Blank Canvas Collaboration Project. Far from
shunning watchful eyes, participants welcome the public and intend to
feed off their creative energy; there will also be musicians and poets
performing at various times throughout the next 10 days. The resulting
works will hang on exhibit from Tuesday (July 25) until August 13.
