BIOGRAPHY
Sidnea D'Amico
was born in Brazil where she studied photography and jewelry design.
She settled in the U.S. where she has been developing her career as an
artist. Her main mediums are painting and mixed media.
D'Amico is a prolific artist
whose work has been bought by collectors around the world.
Her works have been included in
group exhibitions at Southern Exposure, SOMArts, Mission Cultural Center in
San Francisco, Sanchez Art Center in Pacifica and recently at Michelle
O’Connor Gallery. She has also
received a merit Award from Artisans Gallery in Mill Valley in 2002
Ms D'Amico had her first solo
exhibition in November 2002 at H. Biron Gallery and her last solo
installation , CLOSER and CLOSER at Levy Art and Architecture in San
Francisco. She has also participated in the San Francisco Open Studios for
four years.
Her work has been published in
the Northern California Artists book, released by Alcove Books in March 2003
and in the Art Collectors book released in April, 2004. She was also
selected for an entry in the Woman Made Gallery Date book - 2004.
D'Amico was also invited to
lecture on her artwork at MCCLA for the exhibition Visionary Women on March
2nd, 2005 in San Francisco, CA and was nominated to represent
Brazil in the 2005 Florence Biennale of Contemporary Art in Italy.
