Seymour Art Gallery
The premier exhibition for the Blank Canvas Collaboration
Project took place at the Seymour Art Gallery in North Vancouver,
British Columbia, Canada July 10-August 13, 2006
An intense two week working period produced these
canvasses. They were painted in the gallery setting with the public
being invited to observe. We began with the five artists starting one
canvas each. Each canvas was worked on by all of the artists. There was
no set theme, though all of the canvasses developed a story quite
naturally. The process is so dynamic and challenging that it takes some
time to learn how to work in such a spontaneous environment. A full
range of emotions were captured, the extremes being complete harmony to
complete conflict. All of these moments were interesting and rewarding.
A very beautiful process indeed.
